Eric Boruff - Music Director

Mr. Boruff grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and began playing the violin at the age of nine. Shortly thereafter, Eric began in depth music theory and composition studies. In 2010, after teaching privately for a year, he volunteered to re-organize and direct the orchestra for his high school, which he directed for three years. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in music education, Eric moved to Charlotte where he now operates one of the largest violin-exclusive lesson studios in the area. In January of 2019, Mr. Boruff accepted the position of music director and president of the board of directors.

Chris Brown, Brass & Woodwind Director

Christopher Brown has been the Director of Bands at Lake Norman High School in Mooresville, NC since the school's founding in 2002. Under his direction, the Lake Norman Band Program has established itself as a leader in musical performance and engagement for young musicians. The Lake Norman Bands routinely place large numbers of musicians into area honor bands, and consistently earn "Superior" ratings at North Carolina State Music Adjudication events. In 2009, the Lake Norman Bands were honored to receive an invitation and perform for the prestigious New Year's Day Parade in London, England. When not involved in band and music related activities, Mr. Brown enjoys yardwork, exercise, and spending time with his sons Bayden and Canon, and Wife Beverly.

Jim Edwards, Prelude Strings Director

Jim Edwards has spent the last two decades teaching orchestra in several different schools in the East Coast region. In addition to his experience in the classroom, he has also consistently taught privately in after school programs, music schools, and studios. In December of 2019, Jim accepted the position to direct the Prelude Strings.
